The pioneering multi-merchant ordering app
Groover Delivery Solutions (formerly Gruber) is a third-party delivery service provider in Olongapo City and Subic Bay Freeport Zone Area. With hundreds of partner merchants in different categories such as restaurants, online sellers, and traditional businesses, the Groover app cuts across common delivery constraints by pioneering unique features like multi-merchant ordering and virtual concierge service.
When the business started in 2018, they wanted to fill the absence of delivery services to the people of Olongapo City. Initially, Groover’s main goal was to help local businesses. They knew that if multinational delivery services were to come to Olongapo city, the overhead cost and maintenance would be too expensive and arduous for their merchants. They also needed a way to maximize the daily order volume and sales to service more people daily.
Groover Delivery started with a manual way of processing orders through SMS, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Eventually, they tried to commission a mobile app to make the service faster. But reliability of their first app wasn’t a hundred percent. Sometimes, their app would go down and the team would revert to their manual process of processing orders on their social media platforms instead.
When we partnered with Groover Delivery in 2019, the task was two-pronged - we had to improve the UI/UX of the service and at the same time, rebuild the whole system to make it more efficient and more robust. We made the user interface friendlier, smoother, and easier to navigate. Users have the option to log in easily with their mobile number or Facebook account.
Since Groover wanted to maximize daily volume of orders, we worked to integrate the multi-merchant ordering service - a pioneering feature among the delivery apps in the country. We also incorporated the virtual concierge service to work seamlessly in-app - so even unlisted merchants can have their products delivered anywhere in the city.
Groover Delivery mobile app launched in November 2019, with a new user interface and built-in features. Their customers’ response was so positive that they became the #1 Trending App in the Google Play Store upon the launch.
White Cloak took charge of transforming Groover’s delivery business into a fully-digital experience, helping the business grow over 10x in just 6 months since the launch of their new mobile app. They were able to expand their sales territory quickly - from Olongapo, they expanded to servicing adjacent areas in the Zambales region as well.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Groover team was shocked to see that they were getting 200-500% increase in sales and order volume every month since quarantine. Groover’s Founder says “I didn't expect it all because during a pandemic, people have less disposable income - but we flourished.”
